Dates for Mason Dixon Day 2016 will be August 19,20,21, 2016. Friday will be a set up day and Saturday and Sunday there will be a full schedule of events. The Gettysburg Wine & Fruit Trail sponsors this free, open to the public, one of a kind historic celebration marking the anniversary of the surveying of the Mason Dixon Line that separates Pennsylvania from Maryland.
This family-friendly event*is designed to educate and entertain guests about colonial life and the time when the South Mountain region of PA and MD was the frontier.
The festival always includes exciting reenactments with artillery demonstrations,a French and Indian War encampment with British, Native American and French camps; sutler camp; wineries, brewery, distilleries, food, contemporary vendors, exhibits, demonstrations and special events featuring music and educational seminars!
Always a free event, no tickets needed. . This special event is designed to educate and entertain guests about colonial life and the time when the South Mountain region of PA and MD was the frontier.
To make the event even more unique, Maryland and Pennsylvania wineries, breweries, cideries & distilleries will be serving their handcrafted beverages. Of course, they will be on their respective sides of the line,
